Simmons University School of Social Work

City Year is proud to partner with Simmons University's School of Social Work, a pioneering liberal arts university with renowned coeducational graduate programs, offering 25% to 50% tuition scholarships.

Simmons University’s School of Social Work offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff

25%-50% scholarships

The minimum award amount will be equal to 25% of the total tuition, and the maximum award amount will be equal to 50% of the total tuition for the entire Master of Social Work program for up to five City Year applicants per year.

Part-time students (five or more credits) and full-time students (10 or more credits) are eligible to be considered for this scholarship. This scholarship opportunity is only available to on-campus students.

Scholarships are awarded to City Year AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and City Year staff employed for at least two years.

Applicants will be considered for additional merit-based awards depending on the strength of their application and availability of other Simmons scholarship funds.

Additional benefits

  • Application fee waiver
  • Enrollment deferral: Admitted students will be permitted to defer enrollment by one year if they decide to serve additional time with City Year before starting their studies. Students who are awarded the Give-a-Year Scholarship may not defer their award but will be eligible for full reconsideration for the new term they defer to.
