Simmons University’s Graduate School of Library and Information Science offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff
25% scholarship
The award will be equal to 25% of tuition for up to one City Year applicant per year for the entire duration of their graduate program.
Part-time (five or more credits) and full-time students (10 or more credits) are eligible to be considered for this scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded to a City Year AmeriCorps member or alum who completed at least one term of service or a City Year staff member employed for at least two years.

- Application fee waiver
- Enrollment deferral: Admitted students will be permitted to defer enrollment by one year if they decide to serve additional time with City Year before starting their studies. Students who are awarded the Give-a-Year Scholarship may not defer their award but will be eligible for full reconsideration for the new term they defer to.

Please self-identify your City Year affiliation through a check box on the online application and on your résumé and/or personal statement.
To access the application fee waiver and apply for the scholarship
To have the application fee waived, select that you are a City Year applicant in the dropdown box on the application and the fee will automatically be waived.
To be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with “Simmons SLIS” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your AmeriCorps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to the admissions office and added to your applicant file.
