City Year is proud to partner with North Central College, a private liberal arts and science institution located outside of Chicago in Naperville, Illinois, offering 50% tuition scholarships.
North Central College offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff
A minimum 50% tuition scholarship will be awarded to all admitted City Year applicants per year towards any undergraduate program and is renewable for up to four years.
Scholarships are awarded to City Year AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and City Year staff employed for at least two years.
Applicants will be considered for additional merit-based awards depending on the strength of their application.
- There is no fee to apply.
- Enrollment deferral: a one-year deferral for students admitted to the program who decide to serve additional time with City Year before starting their studies with North Central College.

Please contact the admissions office and state your City Year affiliation and dates of service and reference our partnership.
To apply for the scholarship
To be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing email@example.com with “North Central College: City Year verification letter request” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your AmeriCorps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to the admissions office and added to your applicant file.
