Why City Year loves George Mason University’s School of Education
The School of Education is the alma mater for one third of teachers and administrators in Northern Virginia’s world-class school systems. Each year, graduate students enroll in the School of Education’s innovative academic programs, which include advanced study for teachers and school leaders, learning design and technology and a renowned Ph.D. in education program that is among the largest in the country. The college is a nationally recognized leader in educator preparation, special education, counseling and school leadership and is home to seven centers engaged in groundbreaking research.
The Transformative Teaching program is a 30-credit cohort master’s degree in curriculum and instruction for certified classroom teachers and other educators at all grade levels and content areas.
