Indianapolis Teaching Fellows
City Year is proud to partner with Indianapolis Teaching Fellows (a TNTP Teaching Fellows program), where fellows have the opportunity to impact communities where systemic inequities and individual prejudices have denied too many children access to an equitable education.
Indianapolis Teaching Fellows offers City Year alums
Indianapolis Teaching Fellows will receive intensive six-week pre-service training centered in core teaching skills—such as engaging students, managing a classroom and instructional delivery—from experienced coaches and teachers. You will practice those skills with students in a local summer school classroom and with your peers while receiving coaching and feedback.
During the first two years as a full-time teacher, Fellows will complete certification coursework through a partnership with Marian University, where you will earn a Master of Arts in teaching degree through the Transition to Teaching program, which is specifically designed to meet the needs of alternate route teachers.

Visit the application page for more details on the selection process and to apply online. Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis, so apply early to increase your chance of admission.
Please compare the start date for Indianapolis Teaching Fellows to the anticipated City Year graduation date. City Year AmeriCorps members should avoid applying to Indianapolis Teaching Fellows with a conflict, since being accepted into a program that starts before your City Year graduation would end your term of service with City Year, which could have implications such as losing benefits available to you as a City Year alum.
To identify your City Year affiliation
All applicants are asked to note if they are City Year AmeriCorps members or alums on the online application.
