Position Overview

The Corporate Partnerships Director (CPD) is responsible for building engaging and sustainable corporate partnerships that support a growing organization with a private sector revenue goal of $2.375 million for the current fiscal year. The CPD will supervise the Corporate Partnerships Manager and a Civic Engagement Program Manager. The CPD will serve on a larger Development Team of ten professionals and report to the Managing Director of Development for Institutional Giving.  The successful candidate will have a track record of strong relationship management, specifically around fundraising, strong written and oral communication skills, and a history of reaching and exceeding goals.

Job Responsibilities

The Corporate Partnerships Director will meet or exceed this fiscal year’s goal of $2.375 million. Responsibilities to accomplish this include:

  1. Lead the work of the Corporate staff, including Employee Engagement programs, to recommit and increase gifts to raise over $2.3 million in corporate/corporate foundation funding:
    • Work with the Managing Director of Institutional Giving to strategize, set, communicate, and implement all plans and goals around corporate fundraising.
  1. Begin cultivating and secure new gifts in the amount of $2.6M (tent) for FY’15
    • Oversee research and scanning of media sources for potential corporate funders and public Requests for Proposals
    • Develop a pipeline of potential partners whose funding priorities match CYNY’s programs
    • Work with the Development Team to research and power map top prospects
  2. Provide strategy and general oversight and management of Corporate Partnership work for this year and set the ground for FY’15
    • Seek and manage sponsorships for CYNY events from current and new corporations
    • Maintain calendar of proposal and report deadlines
    • Work with City Year, Inc. finance department to gather budget information necessary for grant submissions
    • Maintain and update records in SalesForce including grant tracking and reporting
    • Write acknowledgement letters and general correspondence to corporate grant makers to ensure stewardship and collection of funds in a timely manner
    • Produce briefing materials, proposals, and solicitation decks necessary for corporate asks and information sharing
    • Keep abreast of corporate giving trends, matching gifts programs, employee service opportunities, etc.
    • Staff corporate boards and committees as necessary
