City Year offers three youth leadership programs, each of which is designed for a specific age group. Each program is led by a team of City Year corps members and includes leadership development activities designed to teach students how to make a difference and be active in their communities.

On Saturdays from January to May, corps members teach middle-school students how to become leaders in their communities.
The typical day of a Young Hero includes interactive lessons and activities planned around a particular social topic, a related community service project, and a journal reflection.
THE STARFISH CORPS
Designed for elementary students in grades 3-6, the Starfish Corps offers safe, structured, and fun activities during after-school time that foster understanding of community, teamwork, and service.
Activities include writing letters to city council members about neighborhood improvements, planting school gardens, and painting murals.
