Spring Gala

On Tuesday, May 15, City Year will host its 9th annual Ripples of Hope celebration at the Westin Seattle. This is your opportunity to be part of one of the most inspirational and festive Seattle events of the year.

The evening’s honorees, Edgar and Holli Martinez, will receive City Year’s Lifetime of Service Award. After retiring from his major league baseball career, both Edgar and his wife Holli headed back to school at the University of Washington and gained a valuable appreciation for education through this experience. Through the generosity of The Martinez Foundation, Edgar and Holli have strengthened the community by providing underserved populations with educational opportunities. Similar to City Year’s mission, The Martinez Foundation seeks to empower students from underrepresented populations to not only pursue higher education for their own benefit, but also positively impact the students and communities they serve.
