MAKE IT A DAY ON, NOT A DAY OFF
Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Day and Young Heroes Opening Day
On Martin Luther King Day City Year corps members, City Year Young Heroes, and more than 350 volunteers from The Home Depot, T-Mobile, Youth Build, Brown University, Rhode Island Campus Compact, and numerous businesses and communities united to paint, clean, organize and revitalize Mt. Pleasant High School.

Martin Luther King Jr. believed that, "Anyone can be great, because anyone can serve." On January 19, 2009 City Year Rhode Island partnered with Home Depot, Providence Public Schools, RI Campus Compact, and Rhode Island for Community and Justice to unite the Rhode Island community for a day of transformational service and to help break down the barriers and social injustices around us.
