Join City Year Rhode Island on Friday, October 7, 2011 as 40 young leaders - called corps members - will pledge to make a difference in the schools and neighborhoods of Providence. These diverse young leaders of the 2011-2012 corps will be in the company of family, friends, civic leaders and community supporters on City Year's Opening Day.
Corps members will commit themselves to a year of full-time service in Providence's schools and communities. In Providence this year, City Year corps members will address chronic absenteeism, behavior issues and course failure, in order to keep Providence's youth in school and on track to graduation.
CEREMONY LOCATION: Providence City Hall, 25 Dorrance Street, Providence
