City Year Patch

Spring Gala

"Five years ago I observed that all of our eight hundred students had a story to tell each day. Very often their teachers, their parents and I did not have enough time to listen to them unless they 'acted up.' One day, three years ago, I was approached by an organization seeking to be involved in a School in East New York. We talked. Since then all of our eight hundred children have been able to tell their stories year after year. We have been able to do this and so much more through the power of youth that was unleashed into our School by City Year."
