City Year Patch

Service Partners

"It is rare to find an organization that provides such meaningful services and connects such a wide array of communities, students, volunteers, and corporations. The unique ability to direct the diverse talents and goals of these different groups toward a common purpose is what makes City Year an example to emulate."
- NYC Schools Chancellor Joel I. Klein

City Year is a national not-for-profit organization that partners with New York public schools to improve the chance that students will graduate from high school in neighborhoods where one out of every two students is at risk for dropping out. City Year teams of high school graduates, college students and college graduates commit a year of their lives to serve full-time in our public schools. The teams provide critical services like tutoring and after-school programs, serve as role models, and make the schools a more engaging place to learn.
