Opening Day Celebration

September 28, 2007
City Hall, Manchester, NH

In the company of family, friends, and supporters, 45 young leaders pledged to make a difference in the schools and neighborhoods of communities throughout New Hampshire on Opening Day. Featured speakers included:

  • Fred Bramante, New Hampshire Board of Education
  • Bryson Cook, Vice President of Manchester Smith Barney Branch
  • Stephan Donahue, Principal of Hillside Middle School in Manchester
  • Frank Guinta, Mayor of Manchester
  • John Jaskolka, Manchester Chief of Police

Immediately following the high-energy ceremony, corps members, friends, family, and volunteers from Smith Barney put their pledge into action by completing a transformative service project at the Gossler Park School in Manchester. Projects included painting murals, playground games, and landscaping.
