As a tutor and mentor with City Year, you will make a difference in children’s lives and help develop a new generation of leaders. City Year Milwaukee's service programs include school-based service and community engagement.
SCHOOL-BASED SERVICE
When serving in the schools of Milwaukee, you will provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to help students stay on track, or get back on track, to graduation and life success.
Through City Year’s Whole School, Whole Child service model, you are able to help improve student Attendance, Behavior and Coursework. City Year corps members provide the right interventions to the right students at the right time through:
- academic support;
- attendance monitoring and incentives;
- positive behavior support;
- after-school programming; and
- in-school programs and activities such as assemblies and celebrations that improve the overall school environment.
COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION 
In addition to helping schools and students succeed, City Year corps members transform communities through physical service projects such as:
- Renovating schools
- Creating playspaces
- Painting murals
- Planting gardens
By engaging community members, corporate partners and civic leaders in this work, corps members help share the power of service.
