Opening Day 2009
On September 30th at the steps of City Hall, 150 corps members committed the next year of their lives to serving the children and communities of Los Angeles. We were honored to have the following speakers address our corps at the ceremony:
- Antonio Villaraigosa, Mayor, City of Los Angeles
- Ramon Cortines, Superintendent, Los Angeles Unified School District
- Tony Buzzelli, Vice Chairman and National Managing Partner US Regions, Deloitte
- Lisa Paulsen, President & CEO, Entertainment Industry Foundation
- Andrew Hauptman, Chair, City Year Los Angeles Board & Trustee, City Year National Board of Trustees; Chair, Andell Holdings
Thank you to everyone in attendance. Opening Day 2009 was a powerful start to our biggest year yet!
