Five years of City Year LA corps members reflect on their experiences at Opening Day.
On Friday, October 7th, City Year Los Angeles held our 5th Anniversary Opening Day Ceremony, an inspiring kick-off event for 210 young leaders who are pledging a year of full-time service for the students and communities of Los Angeles. They joined more than 2,000 other diverse 17-24 year olds in 21 communities across America who also were sworn in as City Year corps members. In Los Angeles this year, City Year corps members will work as tutors, mentors and role models to make a difference in the lives of more than 18,000 LAUSD students.
