In the company of family, friends, and supporters, 100young leaders pledged to make a difference in the schools and neighborhoods of Los Angeles on Opening Day.
Immediately following the high energy Opening Day ceremony, corps members – joined by City Year champions and community partners—will start serving by transforming Sunrise Elementary School in Boyle Heights by painting murals, planting gardens and beautifying the campus.
The 100 City Year Los Angeles corps members are among 1,450 City Year corps members who are pledging to serve community and country in 18 locations across the U.S. At the ceremony, corps members will be joined by friends and family, and community, corporate and civic leaders, including:
