
150 Young People Pledge to Serve L.A.

Voice over: Today more than 100 young people answered President Obama’s call for national service.
City Year Los Angeles - it’s an organization that provides tutors and mentors for children in underprivileged schools - held its Opening Day Ceremony outside of City Hall.
150 volunteers between the ages of 17 and 24 pledged to serve 1,700 hours at 12 LAUSD schools. The volunteers say that they will commit the next year to make a difference in the lives of children and families in Los Angeles.
