In 2000, City Year Greater Philadelphia held its inaugural Tribute Dinner which hosted over 1,200 people to honor Warren V. “Pete” Musser. Since then, the Tribute Dinner has engaged over 3,500 citizen supporters, business and community leaders. Honorees from previous years have included Senator Harris Wofford, David L. Cohen, Executive Vice President of Comcast and Bill MCDermott, Global President & CEO of SAP Americas & Asia Pacific Japan. 2009 LIFETIME OF IDEALISM HONOREELong known as one of the NFL's top executives, Joe Banner has played an integral role in transforming the Eagles into one of the most successful and progressive organizations in professional sports, both on and off the field. While football is a huge focus in his life, Banner also devotes a lot of time and energy to community service and is active in non-profit groups. He is the co-chair of the Philadelphia City Year Board and a member of City Year's national Board of Trustees, chairing its National Leadership Committee. Of City Year, Banner says: "City Year is extremely important to me because I believe we live in a community and we each have an obligation to try to make our communities better places.
