Eligibility

  • Must be 17-25 by July 1, 2024
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be a US citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
  • Unfortunately, individuals who have received Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) through the US Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve as an AmeriCorps Member at this time
  • Have served no more than 3 terms as an active AmeriCorps member

School day learning coach

25 or 35-40 hours/week

  • Supports student learning and development during the school day only
  • Works a fixed schedule approximately 35-40 hours per week, in most locations*
  • Serves 1,200 hours throughout the school year*
*hours vary for opportunities in some locations, where candidates would serve 900 hour terms (approximately 25 hours per week)

Apply directly to one of our sites. You’ll be able to list your secondary locations as well. You can also apply “wherever I’m most needed,” meaning that you are willing to relocate and serve at any of City Year’s locations nationwide.

Qualified candidates will be invited to schedule an interview with a City Year staff member. We use Calendly for scheduling, which allows you to pick a time that works best with your schedule. Interviews are done via phone or Teams and last approximately 35 minutes.
