Do you know a young person who inspires you? Corps Members are 17 to 24-year-olds who inspire others daily as they perform high impact community service work. They come from diverse ethnic, economic and educational backgrounds, united in their ambition to serve others, develop their leadership potential and share their idealism.

City Year's mission is to put idealism to work by tapping the civic power of young people for an annual campaign of idealism. The goals of the annual campaign of idealism are to generate transformative community service, break down social barriers, inspire citizens to civic action, develop new leaders for the common good, and improve and promote the concept of voluntary national service. City Year's vision is that one day, the most commonly asked question of an eighteen year-old is: "Where are you going to do your service year?"
