give a year. change the world.
On January 21, 2008 at City Year locations across the United States, hundreds of volunteers will join us in a day of service to commemorate the civil rights movement and honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The day of service follows inspiring opening ceremonies launching City Year’s “heroes” programs for middle and high school students.
City Year celebrates Dr. King´s birthday as a "day ON, not a day off” by honoring his legacy through service projects such as working with seniors, feeding the homeless, painting murals, restoring parks and running educational activities for children.
