give a year. change the world.
On Monday January 18, 2010, thousands of volunteers will join City Year’s 1,550 corps members at locations across the United States to participate in a day of service to commemorate the civil rights movement and honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The opportunity to join in service follows inspiring opening ceremonies launching City Year’s Heroes programs which engage middle school and high school students in community service and leadership development. City Year celebrates Dr. King´s birthday as a "day ON, not a day off” by honoring his legacy through service projects such as painting murals, restoring park areas, landscaping community spaces and leading educational activities for children. Join us on Martin Luther King Jr. Day at a location near you!
