Position Overview:

City Year seeks private sector investments in a range of areas that include financial resources, in-kind donations and private sector expertise. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer, the Senior Director of Corporate Development will ensure that City Year meets the strategic objective of engaging leading corporations in our shared desire to improve the high school graduation rate by (1) supporting and ensuring delivery of the goals and objectives of our current corporate partnerships (2) strengthening and expanding existing relationships to deepen our shared commitment to helping communities, young leaders and students succeed (3) identifying new corporate partnerships that advance the goals of both City Year and the partnering company. The Senior Director of Corporate Development accomplishes the revenue goals for City Year by: (1) leading a team of four professionals experienced in both corporate relationship development and partnership management.(2) establishing the strategies and plans for increasing revenue from the corporate sector(3) managing a personal portfolio of major corporate relationships, learning and understanding their corporate philanthropic missions and working with them to determine the best partnership models possible to achieve their missions by supporting City Year(4) looking for new and creative ways for City Year to develop new partnerships and expand current relationships (5) helping leverage resources for City Year’s sites across the country through national corporate partnerships(6) representing the organization at local and national functions(7) being a member of the development management team to help set department strategy and direction.

· Preferred: Master’s Degree· 7 – 10 years of corporate account management or fund raising experience· Proven sales or fundraising track record· Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once· Strong Marketing and Sales skills and Negotiation skills· Strong managerial and leadership skills · Strategic- oriented· Strong organizational skills· Exceptional attention to detail· Experience working collaboratively and in team environment· Strong computer skills· Desire to work in a fast-paced environment· Flexibility· Sense of Humor· A demonstrated passion for work that directly benefits communities· A terrific work ethic· Ability and experience working in an entrepreneurial, dynamic organization; comfort with change and able to provide structure and clarity when needed; flexible, persistent and resilient; able to prioritize and take initiative in fast changing environment; enthusiastic and sense of humor
