City Year has developed several partnerships with graduate schools that provide scholarships to City Year alumni, including partnerships with Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy at Duke University, The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University and The George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis.
Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy at Duke University (Masters in Public Policy)
- Scholarships awarded to corps members for at least one year of service.
- Scholarship amount: $14,000 per year for each year in the MPP program for up to two years.
- Joint or dual degree students will receive a single $12,000 tuition fellowship in their first year of study.
- Applicants will be considered for additional merit-based awards depending on the strength of the application.
- Applications to the Sanford Institute at Duke University are due in early January.

The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University (Masters in Public Policy or Masters in Business Administration)
- Up to ten scholarships awarded annually to corps members for at least one year of service.
- Scholarship Amounts:
- One year served in the corps: $10,000 ($2,500 per semester)
- Two years served in the corps: $20,000 ($5,000 per semester)
- Applications to the Heller School at Brandeis University are reviewed on a rolling basis.

The George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis (Masters in Social Work)
- Two scholarships awarded annually
- Scholarship Amount: $25,000
- No application fee
- One year deferral for students admitted to Brown's MSW program who decide to complete their 1,700 hours of City Year service before starting the MSW program.
- The Brown School of Social Work has application deadlines in January and March.
