Andrew Hauptman is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Andell Holdings, a private investment firm and family office which he controls along with his wife Ellen Bronfman Hauptman. Mr. Hauptman has oversight of the entire firm’s investment, operating and sports and entertainment businesses.
Mr. Hauptman is owner and Chairman of Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire and Chicago Stadium Management, the operator of Toyota Park. He is Chairman of Storage Mobility, the nation's largest franchisee of Portable On Demand Storage (PODS). He also serves on the Board of Directors of several privately held and publicly traded companies including Canyon Ranch Holdings and Major League Soccer. He has previously served on the Boards of numerous companies, including Koor Industries, Dick Clark Productions, Red Door Salons, Sportal and Loews Cineplex Entertainment.
Mr. Hauptman has extensive experience in all aspects of the entertainment industry both as producer and as an executive, and produces feature film projects through Andell Entertainment. He is currently at work on a number of films including Universal Pictures’ “State of Play,” starring Russell Crowe, and “Lombardi,” a co-production with the National Football League. His other producing credits include, amongst others, United Artists’ “Lions for Lambs,” directed by Robert Redford, Fox Searchlight’s “Millions” directed by Danny Boyle and the Sundance feature “Safe Men”.
Mr. Hauptman is also involved in several philanthropic and civic organizations. He is a Trustee of City Year, Inc. and also Chairman and Co-Founder of City Year Los Angeles, a program that engages 17-24-year-olds from diverse backgrounds for a year of full-time community service in some of our country’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Zoe Saidye Hauptman Memorial Fund, The Hauptman Family Foundation and The Charles Bronfman Prize and is a member of the Yale University Council, an advisory board to Yale’s President.
Early in his career, Mr. Hauptman worked in restructuring and mergers and acquisitions with Alex. Brown & Sons in New York. Later, he worked with Universal Studios in London and played a key role in the oversight of its international operations, focusing primarily on the music and filmed entertainment groups.
Mr. Hauptman holds an MBA from Harvard University and a BA in History from Yale University.
