City Year Champions, friends, family and keynote speaker Mike Tenbusch, Vice President, Educational Preparedness, United Way for Southeastern Michigan celebrated the 81 young adult leaders who will commit to a year of full time volunteer service to the schools, communities and children of Detroit and surrounding communities.
Our 81 full time AmeriCorps members - the largest corps since our founding in 1999 - inspired and energized with their collective spirit of idealism and commitment to addressing Detroit's high school dropout crisis by helping keep students in school and on track to graduation.
