As City Year Detroit begins our 11th year of service to the children and neighborhoods of Detroit and the surrounding area, we invite you to celebrate with us at our annual Opening Day Celebration!
On Opening Day, City Year Detroit's 63 young adult "corps members" will have completed their training and will pledge to "give a year -- change the world". These committed young leaders are serving full time for ten months, tutoring and mentoring children in schools and leading transformative community service throughout our city. They serve along with over 1500 other City Year corps members in 19 other locations across the country.
Immediately following the high-energy public ceremony, corps members put their pledge into action by completing transformative service projects throughout the City of Detroit.
