Each year, City Year Detroit corps members make a difference in the lives of 500 students in grades K-12, helping students thrive and reach new heights in subjects such as reading, writing, math and science. These students often become what we call “Starfish” (a term borrowed from one of City Year’s Founding Stories), individuals who remind us that even though we cannot help everyone, we can make a difference to someone.
