Make a Difference Day

9am– 12pm
Make A Difference Day is the largest one day community service activity in the nation, rallying corporations, government leaders, charitable organizations and everyday Americans into action.

City Year Columbus invites you to join us as we celebrate Make A Difference Day in the Weinland Park Community. Weinland Park is a diverse urban neighborhood of 4,800 people located in the University District of Columbus, Ohio. Like most urban neighborhoods, Weinland Park has lost jobs and residents during the last 40 years, but major public and private investments in the last decade and new commitments for home renovation and new construction over the next few years showcase community renewal and the evolution of a stable, mixed-income neighborhood.

Make A Difference Day volunteers are needed for a variety of projects to make this neighborhood beautiful for the youth and families who reside there. Volunteers will pick up litter throughout the neighborhood, inventory the alleys and street conditions in order to report damage to the city, remove high weeds along curbs and sidewalk edges, plant fall perennials, and edge existing flower beds at Weinland Park Elementary School, home to City Year Columbus’ Chase Team.
Lunch will be served at the conclusion of the project.
