Join us as we celebrate 16 years in Central Ohio and pay tribute to the individuals and corporate partners who helped to build, sustain, and expand the reach of City Year Columbus.

Starry Starry Night is City Year Columbus’s annual benefit gala. Promised to be a magical evening, in which all proceeds benefit City Year corps members who make a difference in the lives of children, the event includes an exceptional cuisine, inspirational speakers, and the presentation of The Seven Generations Award. 

The Seven Generations Award – Honoring The Ohio State University

As the number one corps recruitment source for all of City Year’s 20 U.S. locations, The Ohio State University is an integral part of City Year’s success. As well, OSU is a national leader in research, innovation, and the advancement of academics, as well as a great contributor to our city’s landscape. Just recently, OSU and the City of Columbus announced a multi-million-dollar plan through which the University and University Medical Center will expand its reach and impact into the east side of Columbus. The University’s work in Weinland Park has also been critical to the slow growth and improvement in the once-blighted neighborhood. Join us as we honor one of our city’s strongest community partners.

This award is City Year Columbus’s highest honor and is presented each year to a community or corporate champion for their contribution to the city of Columbus. Past recipients include Councilmember Priscilla Tylson, Limited Brands; Dr. Gene T. Harris, Superintendent, Columbus City Schools; Les Wright, Former Columbus City Council Member; Tanny Crane, President, Crane Plastics; and E.W. Ingram, President, White Castle.
