On Friday, September 26th, 35 corps members from diverse backgrounds- representing City Year's 20th Anniversary corps - pledged to make a difference in the schools and neighborhoods of Columbus.
Modeled after Major League Baseball’s first day of the season, Opening Day is an annual tradition at City Year that launches the corps and the organization into a powerful year of making a difference in the lives of children and their communities. It is at Opening Day that City Year corps members are sworn into a year of fulltime service by taking the City Year Pledge and AmeriCorps Pledge.
