TEAM SPONSOR HIGHLIGHTS:

City Year Columbus is proud of all the partnerships formed with Team Sponsors.  Below are examples of some of the positive outcomes.

  • Read Across America Day - On February 27, 2009 City Year Columbus took a break from the rigors of recess, mentoring, and after school programs to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Read Across America Day is an annual event with the hopes of having every child in America read to by an adult. The Chase team was joined by Cris Gossard and Jeff Lyttle to help with activities. The Siemer Family Foundation team was joined by employees from FirstLink and school board member Shawna Gibbs. State Treasurer, Kevin Boyce, read to students at the Literature Based Alternative School at Hubbard. Activities included making Cat in the Hat hats and bookmarks.
  • Youth Serve-a-thon  - On April 25 more than 200 community volunteers joined City Year corps members for City Year Columbus’ second annual Youth Serve-a-Thon presented by Huntington Bank. Several local corporations sent volunteers to help with this event including, Battelle, Frito Lay, Kohls, and JPMorgan Chase.
