Now, I say to you today my friends, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: - 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'
-Martin Luther King Jr.

On Martin Luther King, Jr, Day, City Year Columbia hosts a fun-filled family carnival with games and activities for all ages.  The carnival celebrates the idea of the "beloved community" by bringing people together in fellowship and fun.  The event is free and open to all.

Also on this day, nearly 100 Columbia middle school students gather to honor the memory of Dr. King as they begin their five-month participation in the City Year Young Heroes Program.

To join us on Martin Luther King Day, please contact Will Bigger at 803-254-3349 or at wbigger@cityyear.org
