On January 18, 2010, City Year Cleveland commemorated the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. City Year Cleveland was joined by 220 volunteers from the community to carry on Dr. King’s message of public service. Alongside members of American Greetings, Frito-Lay, Bank of America, CSX Corporation and The Urban League of Greater Cleveland, City Year led six service projects to help those in need around the City of Cleveland. Projects included leading an MLK fair with children, painting murals and hallways at a high school, sorting donations, assisting the elderly with household needs, and preparing food at a men’s shelter.  Read the complete list and details on the MLK Day 2010 Press/Media Release

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. believed that, "Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve."  During his "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech delivered at Memphis, Tennessee, on the evening of April 3, 1968, Dr. King posed questions in regards to helping and serving alongside our neighbors and if we do not stop to help, what will happen those most in need - and us.  These questions hold as much value now as they did then and challenge each of us to do more for our brothers and sisters.
