Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) is organized by Youth Service America with the Global Youth Action Network as its key partner and a consortium of international organizations and over 125 national partners with thousands of local organizations. GYSD is an annual global event that highlights and celebrates the ongoing contributions of youth to their communities through volunteer service and service-learning.
City Year Cleveland has been proud to participate in GYSD over the past several years. In 2009, City Year Cleveland supported Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU), the local lead GYSD facilitating organization, to identify, plan and execute service projects. On Saturday, April 25, City Year Cleveland members hosted a neighborhood clean-up and party for residents in the Slavic Village neighborhood.
