The goal of Global Youth Service Day is to mobilize, support, and educate youth in service.
City Year Chicago will accomplish these goals by:
- Mobilizing youth to identify and address the needs of their communities.
- Supporting a life-long path of service, learning, and civic engagement.
- Educating the public, the media, and policymakers about the year-round contributions of young people as community leaders.
A program of Youth Service America, Global Youth Service Day is the largest youth service event in the world. Global Youth Service Day is a year-round effort to expand the impact of the youth service movement. The initiative launches new service organizations, policy changes, and sustainable service programs to engage youth.
