Community Service Days

Join us in service on one of the following City Year Chicago Service Day:

IMPORTANT: Volunteers under age 18 will require a signed waiver to participate.

  • West Side Service Day: (Saturday, May 7)
    Since 2005, City Year Chicago has been partnering with organizations and volunteers in the city’s Westside in order to provide a day of meaningful, transformative service for the communities we serve. Join City Year Chicago and 250 volunteers in the North Lawndale Community as we will serving by performing the following projects: painting murals and other spaces, constructing planter boxes and benches, and light-landscaping work.

          May 7th between 8:30am-3:00pm (Opening Ceremony Begins at 9am)
          at the North Lawndale College Prep Auditorium (1615 S. Christiana Ave, Chicago IL 60623). Lunch will be provided.

          (Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age to serve)

  • South Side Service Day: (Saturday, May 7)
    Join City Year and south side residents for a transformative day of service on May 7th, 2011! This year we will be serving at two public schools and a community garden in the Woodlawn Community. City Year Chicago and volunteers will spend the day painting murals and constructing benches and planter boxes. We look forward to serving with you!

    May 7th between 8:30am-3:00pm (Opening Ceremony Begins at 9am)
    at Wadsworth Elementary School (6420 South University Avenue) Lunch will be provided.
