Four trustees named to Chicago State board

Gov. Quinn on Wednesday named four new members to the Chicago State University Board of Trustees, which oversees the management and operations of the college at 95th and King Drive.

The new appointments, according to a release from Quinn's office, are: Lisa Morrison Butler, executive director of City Year Chicago; Gary Rozier, a vice president at Ariel Investments; Julie Samuels, community outreach coordinator for Openlands; and Zaldwaynaka “Z” Scott, a partner at Mayer Brown LLC.

The CSU board has eight trustees. Seven are appointed by the governor and one voting student trustee is selected by campus-wide student referendum. Working with the administration, the board is responsible for overall management of CSU and its branches.

“Chicago State University is committed to academic excellence and strives to provide students with an outstanding educational and life experience,” Quinn said in the release. “These new board members are dedicated to that important cause.”
