Starry Starry Night 2011 Highlights
Thank you to everyone who attended City Year Boston’s Starry Starry Night gala on May 26, 2011! Last year’s event was an inspiring celebration of the City Year corps members who lead Boston students to discover a world of possibilities is within their reach. Our generous champions helped us shatter our fundraising goal of $1.2 million to support students in Boston!
Our charismatic emcees, corps member Jessica and Naby from the Agassiz, kept us smiling all evening and led us through a powerful program featuring corps members, students, teachers and administrators. Through the first grade students’ performance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s I Have a Dream speech, we saw the amazing heights students can reach with the right support. Headmaster McIntyre and Ulari from the Burke High School told us about the true turnaround that is happening at City Year Boston’s first high school partner school. We have great momentum with our incredible partnership with Dr. Johnson and the Boston Public Schools. As we scale our impact in Boston, more students around the city will receive the academic, attendance and behavioral support they need to stay in school and on track to graduation. Together we will help each child like Naby and Ulari reach the stars!
