and the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act

Join more than 600 citizen supporters, business and community leaders, and City Year Boston corps members for City Year’s annual benefit gala, Starry Starry Night 2009 to be held on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the new Boston Convention Center. Celebrate the power of young people to change the world and help inspire others to do the same during a festive night to benefit City Year.

Starry Starry Night has fast become one of Boston’s premier events, featuring exceptional cuisine, a stirring program and dancing under the stars.  Now in its fourteenth year, Starry Starry Night is the heart of City Year’s annual fundraising efforts, with the goal of raising $1.5 million to support City Year and its Boston corps members.

In past years, Starry Starry Night has featured President Bill Clinton, who first visited City Year during the 1992 Presidential campaign.  Prior year’s festivities have also featured keynote addresses from Theo Epstein, Executive Vice President and General Manager for the Boston Red Sox Organization, Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, NBC Journalist Tim Russert, Massachusetts Senators Edward Kennedy and John Kerry, Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, and Mayor Thomas Menino.  In 2008, our featured speaker was General (Ret.) Colin L. Powell.
