Reporting to the Deputy Director of Development and Operations as a member of the City Year Seattle/King County team, the Corporate and Foundation Manager is responsible for corporate and foundation sector grant writing/reporting, fundraising, as well as leveraging the resources, talents and skills of our corporate partners to increase City Year Seattle/King County’s capacity to reach its goals of keeping more students in school and on track to graduate.
• Serve as Lead for Grant Writing and Reporting:
Write powerful and inspiring grants, letters and proposals to current and potential funders. Also, in partnership with our Program Team, prepare quantitative/qualitative grant reports based on initiatives supported by our stakeholders.
Serve as the development department lead on evaluation data analysis and reporting, collaborating with the Program Team.
• Develop a Corporate and Foundation-based Revenue Generation Strategy:
Support the Development Team in creating strategies to identify and secure corporate and foundation partnerships. Implement this income strategy by developing target lists of new and renewing corporate and foundation donors and packaging City Year programs with accompanying solicitation requests to appropriately appeal to donors. Develop effective solicitation plans and the necessary supporting materials. Understand the marketing and business needs of corporations and develop and implement a strategic revenue generation strategy that addresses these needs.
• Secure Resources from Corporations and Foundations:
Identify and engage senior leadership/program officers from Corporations and Foundations to invest in City Year both financially and through in-kind donations via: the fundraising gala, programmatic support, or other initiatives.
• Team Sponsor Program:
Lead the Team Sponsor Program strategy to ensure each one of City Year’s school-based teams have a corporate or foundation sponsor.
• Maintain and Steward Corporate and Foundation Relationships:
Nurture partnerships with current and prospective funders, including Team Sponsors and Program Sponsors through donor recognition programs and stewardship, including written correspondence and telephone communication. Create customized initiatives, such as community service events and mentoring programs that inspire employees to volunteer with City Year and make a positive impact in the Seattle community. Cultivate long-term relationships to ensure continued funding and involvement.
• Event Management Support:
As a representative of the Development team, support on strategy and implementation of City Year signature events, including the annual gala which generates $350,000 in revenue.
• Reporting:
Support the Deputy Director of Development and Executive Director with periodic revenue reports and annual revenue budgeting process.
